How to Select the Right Spacer Mesh
Finding the right 3D spacer fabric requires balancing physical dimensions with mechanical requirements and manufacturing economics. Use our structured 4-step framework below.
Identify Installation & Role
Where does the mesh sit? Direct skin contact (requires soft touch, hypoallergenic yarn), covered cushioning (requires compression resilience), or internal airflow ventilation channel.
Define Thickness & GSM Bounds
- Thin Air Mesh (1–3mm, 150–300 GSM): Footwear, bag straps.
- Standard Sandwich (3–8mm, 280–600 GSM): Office chairs, baby gear.
- Heavy 3D Spacer (8–20mm, 600–1400 GSM): Mattresses, car seats.
Surface & Bottom Structure
Choose hole geometry: Hexagonal honeycomb for high open area airflow; micro-pore for insect/dust filtration; solid flat bottom for anti-abrasion and laminating adhesion.
Verify Supply Feasibility
Select from Greige-Ready constructions for fast 10-day custom color dyeing with 200kg MOQ, or plan a bespoke knitting run (2,000kg MOQ) for unique project requirements.
